Cassette Review: Strange Brew (Cream): By Devin J. Meaney
A while back I took a trip to Value Village. I forget what my friends were looking for—but I figured I would take a trip over in search of books and tapes.
I did find a handful of creepy youth fiction books and a copy of "The Outsiders"—but I also snagged a copy of "Strange Brew: The Very Best of Cream" on cassette. Not knowing much about Cream but knowing that they were a legendary band from yesteryear I figured it would be criminal to not take it home for the 1.50 CAD it was marked for.
With songs like Sunshine of your Love, Crossroads, White Room, Politician and 8 others, I can honestly say that this is a very enjoyable cassette and it gets quite a bit of play in my tape deck over the last little bit.
Again, I don't know as much about this style of rock as I do about more extreme forms of music—so I will keep this short. With that said, Cream was indeed a rocking band and I can see why they were so popular in their heyday. I encourage you to give them a listen if you haven't—and if you have—give them another listen anyway!
